Lady Gaga in drag looks like Al Pacino in 'Dog Day Afternoon' (Photos) - Examiner.com
Sunday, Lady Gaga appeared in drag at the MTV VMAs. Wearing a plain white t-shirt paired with a black pair of slacks and a black sports jacket, the performance artist bore an amazing resemblance to a young Al Pacino. The Al Pacino fans enjoyed in the film Dog Day Afternoon.
Whether or not Lady Gaga drew from Al Pacino as inspiration for alter ego Jo Calderone is not known, but even the Born This Way singer's swagger when she morphed into a he looked like the veteran movie star as he played bi-sexual Sonny in the classic Sidney Lumet-directed flick.
And, since Gaga stayed in character throughout the two-hour show, there were plenty of times to see her/him on and off the stage as a woman playing a man called Jo and looking like a character called Sonny as characterized by Al Pacino.
Indeed, in the audience at the Nokia Theater, LA Live, Lady Gaga as Calderone emulated a laid back, greasy creep in mannerisms as well as in looks. While on stage, she/he made a big deal out of compulsively smoking cigarettes and by talking in an accent any NYC resident out of Little Italy would identify with as his or her own.
