Ben's Day of Discovery - the water dish, the screen door, a new toy, how to pee on paper!

Yup, this is blurry, because Ben was moving that quickly with his new toy, the knot!

Today Ben was so active when I came home! He wagged at me and when I picked him up, he would not stop nibbling me - he nibbled my hands, my arms - I was so thrilled - I had a dog in the 1980s named Hawk who was a nibbler. Funny how you see old dogs in new ones. It choked me up a little. Ben ran around today - and I took pics but also took some video. I know, I know, it is not much in the videos, but I want to capture his days of discovery. He is 25 days old today, and weighs 2425 grams, about 5.5 pounds.

Here he is coming to me (well, to the toy) - it's a start!!

After putting Ben to sleep, Caden found a toy we left out, and posed. He says "Ahem, someone else here is a puppy too!" All of my dogs have been so good about a puppy here - Caden is curious but very calm about Ben being in a pen in the living room. It makes me very proud.

The other big deal today, is that I saw him leave his little vari-kennel sleeping area twice to pee on the paper. Unbelievable.

Ben sauntered by the water dish, put his paw in it, then came back and had a drink from it - it's the first time I've seen him drink from a dish this way...

Ben was wandering by and noticed that the other guys were all watching him, and then, he figured out the screen door! He spent some time trying to figure that mystery out...

Ben sees his momma through the French door and just freezes!

So I brought Jet in, and she laid down for him right there on the floor. He had an impromptu nursing session. Jet's wet from being outside (surprise, it's raining here)... but it is so sweet, he nursed until they both fell asleep.

Ben falls asleep while nursing

Thanks Ma
