WASHINGTON — D.C. officials are announcing a day for the dogs.

The district's Department of Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Department of Health for the third annual DPR Doggie Day Swim on Sept. 10.

The noon to 4 p.m. event will be held at Upshur Pool and Banneker Pool. Admission is free for D.C. residents and their dogs.

Health officials will be available to monitor the health and safety of the pets and their owners. They'll also provide information on pet vaccinations, dog licenses and dog park licenses.
