3 dirty kids, 31 pets rescued from disgusting home - Orlando Sentinel

Three children were found surrounded by garbage and animal waste from 33 pets in a filthy Flagler County home on Sunday.

Mother Theresa Martone, 33, of Palm Coast was arrested and charged with three counts of child abuse and 30 counts of animal cruelty.

An investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Family Services took custody of the children, ages 5, 8 and 14. It's not clear if they were enrolled in school.

Six dogs, 22 cats, two ferrets and a rabbit were removed by an investigator with Flagler County Animal Control Services.
